This is an exempt position and will report to the VP of Client Relations
Summary
The Account Specialist, Client Relations is accountable for maintaining the tools and procedures necessary to service the client.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 1 to 2 years of working in a role that contributes to client relationship
  • 1 to 2 years of experience within Insurance industry required, TPA experience strongly preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills using clear and concise communication
  • Uses available time to organize and complete work within given deadlines.
  • Excellent messaging and presentation of information
  • Excellent collaboration and listening skills


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, and general knowledge of PowerPoint software programs.
  • Strong work management skills - identify a goal and the steps needed for accomplishment and proactively manage action steps to accomplish goal
  • Works independently with minimal supervision.
  • Communicates in writing and speech clearly, concisely, and effectively with others
  • Responds to the client’s needs while following company procedures.
  • Pays attention to the details of a project or task.
  • Works well with a variety of personalities and individuals.


Essential Functions
  • Has knowledge of stop loss definitions, terms and how they are used
  • Collaborates with internal team members for an overview understanding of tasks within other departments that support Client Relations
  • Articulate the value of a TPA for newly assigned clients.
  • Has knowledge on how to assist with basic eligibility and claims issues as needed with the department
  • General knowledge of compliance areas that affect Client Relations
  • Ability to interpret plan document language
  • Acquire knowledge of sales process and implementation of clients as it relates to Client Relations
  • Acquire knowledge of future products and processes as assigned by supervisor
  • Assist with Client Relations procedure documentation as assigned by supervisor


Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This can be a sedentary role at times however requires travel to corporate office and clients. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.


Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office or remote environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, copiers, filing cabinets and camera for Zoom (or other communication programs) environment.
