This position is open to the public and all current city employees covered under the City’s Collective Bargaining Agreement with AMERICAN FEDERATION OF STATE, COUNTY, AND MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES (AFSCME) – BARGAINING UNIT 1, 3, 4 & 5. Only employees in City job titles in this bargaining unit are eligible to bid.

Under supervision, performs a variety of routine clerical duties for the Senior Volunteer Stipend Programs; and performs related duties as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Gathers, tabulates and proofreads data for various activity of statistical reports using MS office software
- Performs general office duties, using office equipment (i.e., copier, fax, computer, printer)
- Exercises excellent customer service skills with senior participants
- Reviews a variety of documents including applications, requisitions, forms and ledgers for accuracy and completeness
- Receives, sorts, mail, batches and files office records, correspondence, applications and related data
- Answers telephone calls and directs general inquiries and complaints to proper source for handling
- May assist with timekeeping functions such as recording absences, totaling hours worked, and maintaining individual time records
- Must be able to attend and assist with off site trainings, in services and outings hosted for seniors
- Keep daily phone log and be able to multitask

Shift: Monday-Friday
Hours: 9:00am – 5:00pm
THIS POSITION IS IN THE CAREER SERVICE
Six months of clerical experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience
SELECTION REQUIREMENTS
This position requires applicants to complete an interview. The interviewed candidate(s) possessing the qualifications best suited to fulfill the responsibilities of the position, based on the oral part of the interview will be selected
Preference will be given to candidates possessing the following:
- Previous experience with customer service
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
