Overview:
Grow With Us! The Hilb Group is currently seeking a motivated and ambitious Claims Processor to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to build relationships and service our P&C customers.

This position will report to our agency located in Montclair, NJ with a hybrid schedule of working in office and virtually. The ideal candidate will be motivated to succeed, is well organized, able to prioritize, and able to work well with a team.

Responsibilities:
  • Be the primary contact for the client when claims need to be reported. Utilize the support of a claim’s technician to report claims with carriers. Claims technician will confirm each claim with an acknowledgement and assignment of a claim number accompanied with adjuster contact information. Claims will range from personal home claims to commercial claims. Agency is heavy on high end personal lines with the majority of claims with Chubb, PURE, BerkleyOne and Cincinnati. Majority of first party commercial claims are with Chubb, Hanover, Travelers, CNA and Hartford. Agency does very little in the wholesale marketplace.
  • When necessary and with management approval, engage technical claims advocacy resources from a third-party consulting firm.
  • Follow-up on open 1st party claims, initially within the first 10 days from date of loss and then every 30 days. Be available to clients for questions and issues that may come up.
  • Explain the claims process and guide clients upon receipt of litigation and demand letters.
  • Advise and consult on reporting requirements of professional and management liability claims.
  • Help on-board new clients, delivering a claims welcome kit and explaining claims reporting process and procedures, provide boilerplate incident reporting forms as needed.
  • Establish relationships with claims adjusters and communicate agency expectations for 1st party claims.
  • Be proficient in the agency management system to manage claims data and generate claims reports, as necessary.
  • Prepare a claims stewardship report annually or semi-annually for each client and meet in person or in web-conference call with client to review
    key open claims, claims frequency & severity, and make focused risk control recommendations that address each client’s historical claims

Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office Excel and AMS 360 is preferred.
  • Must be able multi-task while maintaining accuracy.
  • Must be detailed oriented. Accuracy in this position is critical.
  • Must have strong time management skills. Able to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
