Basic Function

Role owns the LYB Sustainability process to collect, validate, deliver, and improve the Circularity and Low carbon business related data required for the LYB Annual Sustainability Report, LYB Annual Report and emerging (EU) Taxonomy analysis. This is a critical role for reporting LYB’s Sustainability data to stakeholders and is subject to annual 3rd Party auditing. The field of what LYB needs to report on under these activities is expanding rapidly and further developing so this role needs to deal with preparing for additional kpi’s and reporting requirements.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Improvement plans and business case building to define KPIs and expanding to Taxonomy (classification system for economic activities with definition and rules for what is considered environmentally sustainable economic activities) for Circular and Low Carbon business unit.
  • Working in multi-functional teams as focal point and link to ESG financial reporting.
  • Maintain and document the standards and practices to facilitate timely, accurate, and traceable submission of data.
  • Monitor the data collection during the year to identify data submission errors.
  • Apply validation protocols to data to identify data submission problems .
  • Identify systemic issues with the data collection, validation, and delivery process with both internal stakeholders and external auditors.
  • Remediate systemic issues with the process.
  • Continually improve the process to improve data quality, ease of collection, and overall process efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Own the data collection process and tools, compile and consolidate data and support BU’s in their use.
  • Engage stakeholders across the organization in delivering the final products derived from this data (Sustainability Report, Annual Report, etc).
  • Engage other stakeholders in the process (Internal Auditing, Internal Controls, Environmental, Procurement, Global Sustainability, and Manufacturing) to align on performance and changes needed to the process and support Circularity & Low Carbon Solutions to investor grade data.

Min. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 10-15 years of work experience.
  • Process, analytics and financial acumen.
  • Process system knowledge and ownership for data corrections.
  • Curiosity to familiarize yourself with new and upcoming legislation, while translating this into actionable plans.
  • Ability to zoom in from site to product level data processing.
  • Require demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage a global team.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision and effectively manage multiple / changing priorities.
  • Embracing and championing change and should have great facilitative leadership skills.
  • Excellent people and organizational leadership acumen demonstrated through previous experience across the organization.
  • Setting ambitious goals and delivering result through their team.
  • This position requires ability to interface with all organizational levels within the company including LyondellBasell ExCom Team members.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA preferred.
