Position: Children’s and Youth Library Services Outreach Coordinator

The Bath County Memorial Library is seeking applications for permanent Children’s and Youth

Library Services Outreach Coordinator (AKA: the cool Kids’ person).

Hours: Up to 37.5 hours per week. Evening and weekend hours are required.

Requirements:

• Valid driver’s license (exception: Hot Wheels race cars).
• High School diploma or GED required. A combination of college degree or experience in Library positions is preferred.
• Familiarity with library procedures, including book circulation and shelving preferred.
• Ability to use basic computer programs, including Microsoft Office programs
• Being able to talk to people, you know, like in person, IRL
• Ability to work under minimal supervision, we don’t have time for that.
• Getting along with others. Sharing, and taking turns, and cooperating just like preschool.

Duties:

• Prepares and presents fun, literacy filled, programing to target audiences from ages 0-18+.
• A willingness to use continuing education opportunities to update programs with creativity and literacy skills, new trends pop up all the time.
• Works with Library outreach staff to develop creative and informative weekly programming in and out of the Library for the community.
• Works with Teen volunteers to create programming and opportunities for growth and development for underserved groups, or you know, just hang.
• Works with other government organizations representing the Library and cooperating with community needs.
• Knowing how to have fun at work
• Able to play.
• A willingness to fail and try again.

Salary: Begins at $12.99 per hour

This position requires a valid driver’s license, and is subject to a background check and drug testing.
