Child Welfare Assistant
This position is located in Altus, Oklahoma.
Travel: Extensive - Must possess a valid driver's license and must maintain required car insurance.
Annual Salary:
- Level I H16A - $28,191.00 + Full State Benefits
- Level II H16B - $30,304.00 + Full State Benefits
- Level III H16C - $33,333.00 + Full State Benefits

Minimum Qualifications
Child Welfare Assistant I
- Six months of experience with general office clerical work;
- Or, six months of providing care for children in a licensed daycare facility;
- Or, six months of vocational training course work;
- Or, the completion of 15 semester hours from a college or university.
Child Welfare Assistant II
- One year of clerical office experience in a governmental or non-profit environment;
- Or a combination of education and experience.
Child Welfare Assistant III
- One year of clerical office experience/combination of education and experience, PLUS two years of clerical experience in a Child Welfare field.
Job responsibilities:
Provides lower-level case management assistance and support for Child Welfare Specialists (CWS), clients, client families, and other interested parties.
Performs administrative support tasks and other related duties including general office duties, inputting case documentation, compiling social and economic data, scheduling and assisting in meetings with clients, parents, and other interested parties.
Schedules required appointments for doctor visits, family visitations, court appearances, and others; arranges or provides transportation for children and clients.
Interviews clients and their families and reports findings to assigned CWS.
Advises clients of available child welfare services and resources; provides specific program information to clients and may refer to community resources for assistance.
- Ability to work on a diverse team and directly with people from diverse backgrounds specifically racial, ethnic, socioeconomic, and disabilities.
