The Town of Hilton Head Island has an exciting opportunity in their Development Services Division for a Chief Building Inspector. The Chief Building Inspector supervises the inspection of construction projects to ensure compliance with all codes as required by law and established Town construction practices and procedures. This position manages a team of six (6) building inspectors. A successful candidate maintains effective working relationships with Town employees, community members, and appropriate others in support of assigned duties.

Education and Experience:
- Associate’s degree and six (6) years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Qualifications:
- International Code Council (ICC) certifications in Electrical, Plumbing, Mechanical and Building; and
- Valid Driver’s license
The salary range for this position is $61,992 - $96,089 (DOQ). The salary offered will be commensurate with the selected candidate's experience and qualifications.
