Helper – Chick
I. General Information:
A. Organizational Position: Helper – Chick
B. Accountable To: Chick Supervisor
C. Division: Kinston Production
D. Date Approved: March 1997
II. Primary Functions:
- Assists driver in delivering chicks to the broiler farms in the Division or other assigned areas.
III. Major Responsibilities:
- Assists in reporting all accidents, regardless of size or cost.
- Controls personal conduct of self or driver when away from the Hatchery.
- Assists placing chicks in designated areas for proper care, cooling and/or air flow.
- Cleans each vehicle and follows disinfection schedule.
- Assists with traying, setting or transferring of eggs when required.
- Cleans and sanitizes all bus bays and chick holding rooms as directed.
- Performs other duties as directed by the Chick Supervisor.
IV. Position Requirements:
- In addition to meeting the basic qualifications for new employees, the employee must also meet the following qualifications:
- Must be able to lift weights up to 100 pounds.
- Must be able to work long and irregular hours.
- Must be able to work outside and in dusty conditions.
