Chemistry Technician Job at Panhandle Products LLC
This position performs QC laboratory chemical analysis to support the production of cheese products.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Perform chemical analysis per SOP on the in-process products, utilizing lab equipment available.
- Participate in lab proficiency programs as outlined and assigned by Lab Manager.
- Follow all Good Laboratory Practices and safety policies.
- Participate in laboratory inventory control, and perform stocking duties as assigned.
- Enter data from testing results into LIMS system; report any OOS results immediately.
- Communicating with Shift Manager any issues with regards to testing completion.
- Actively participate in the training program as assigned by Shift Manager.
- Perform calibration or preventive maintenance of analytical equipment, troubleshoot issues, and repairs.
- Promotes and exhibits strong Food Safety and Quality practices.
- Promotes and exhibits sustainability practices.
- Promotes and exhibits strong housekeeping practices.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 6 months of experience working in a food-industry laboratory.
- Prefer a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- Fundamental knowledge of the proper use of all laboratory chemicals, good lab practices, and lab safety.
- English skills must be proficient to understand, read, write, and speak.
- Proven ability to enter data into LIMS system or spreadsheet software.
