A Main Function:
1 Provides resident care services under the direction of the Unit Manager and/or Supervisor.
B Professional Experience Required:
1 This position requires six months as a CNA in a long term facility.
C Educational Experience Required:
1 Must have an high school diploma or equivalent and must possess a valid CNA certification or obtain
CNA certification within four months of hire date.
D Age-Specific Competency:
1 Possess the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care/services to geriatric residents
2 Takes into account resident’s religious/cultural beliefs pertaining to treatment and observance
E Working Conditions/Potential Hazards:
1 The employee may be exposed to infectious diseases. Daily contact with disoriented and, at times,
resistant and combative residents. The employee must be able to cope with the mental and emotional
stress of this job. *Consistent application of Standards Precautions and OSHA standards should
substantially decrease the risks associated with potential hazards.

2 Physical Requirements for the job listed above are:
- Must be able to move intermittently throughout the day; sit, stand, bend, lift intermittently
- Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language.
- Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional needs of the position.
- Must be able to see and hear or use prosthesis that will enable these senses to function
- Must function independently and have flexibility and the ability to work effectively with
- Must successfully complete employee health requirements.
- Must be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, and elderly.
- Must be able to lift, pull, push and move a minimum of 35 pounds.
- Must be able to assist with the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
- Finger and hand dexterity to handle and manipulate instruments and equipment.
