Certified Nursing Assistant Responsibilities
- Nursing work in the care of patients and their quarters in a hospital, infirmary, and long-term care unit, or a domiciliary care unit
- Performs non-professional nursing services in the direct and daily care and rehabilitation of ambulatory and non-ambulatory patients and the maintenance of their quarters.
- Participates on the job, in service and formal training in nursing care procedures to update and maintain non-professional nursing care expertise
- Assisting and encouraging patients to participate in prescribed rehabilitative and recreational activities as individuals and as members of a group
- Ensuring patients or residents receive appropriate diet by reviewing their dietary restrictions, food allergies, and preferences
- Obtaining a wide range of information from physicians, caregivers, and nurses about patient conditions, treatment plans, and suggested activities
- Recording vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rate as requested by staff
