Certified Behavioral Technician Job at The Arc Northern Chesapeake Region
We are looking for a committed, compassionate, and qualified Clinical Support Specialist to join our team. The right candidate will work collaboratively and under the direction of a licensed behavioral health clinician, along with person-supported teams to support the development and implementation of behavioral support plans and data collection.
They will focus on providing training on behavioral supports which is conducted in person with the person supported and staff. This job requires staff to work in-person and onsite in the community.
Position Responsibilities: In a manner consistent with supporting The Arc NCR Mission Statement the Clinical Support Specialist shall do the following:
Quality Support
Assists in the development, training and implementation of behavioral support plans and data collection for the functional assessments.
Presents Behavior Support Plans to relevant committees.
Participates in data collection, review and interpretation of behavioral data.
Ensures that the individual’s plan is carried out as outlined in the written plan, programs, schedules and other documentation.
Develops and maintains appropriate and effective relationships with physicians, psychologists and nurses in the community.
Provides direct assistance and modeling to families, staff and caregivers to they can implement the behavior support plan.
Quality Team Members
Trains staff, family members and caregivers and models behavior support plans interventions.
Assesses and provides suggestions for staff training in the areas of psychological and behavioral supports.
Participates in orientation of new team members.
Financial Excellence
- Provides feedback to agency leaders, case managers and service coordinators around changes in service funding levels.

Education, Training and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work or Applied Behavioral Analysis required
- Must obtain certification in one of the following within 90 days of employment: * Certified Crisis Intervention Specialist * Certified Behavioral Intervention Technician * Registered Behavioral Technician
- 2-3 years of experience in a human services field; DDA experience preferred.
- Experience in taking clinical skills and incorporate them in a multiple disciplinary approach to people.
- Fluent in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform successfully the essential functions of this position. Physical Demands
While performing the duties associated with this position, an employee (using approved agency lifting techniques) will be called upon to support and lift adult individuals with developmental and other disabilities; transfer these individuals to and from wheelchairs; to and from beds; on and off toilet seats; in and out of showers; and, in and out of vans or other vehicles. An employee in this position must be able to physically intervene (when appropriate and in an approved manner) to protect the individual from causing harm to themselves or others and to safely evacuate the community residence/van/facility during an emergency. These duties may entail lifting/supporting/transferring up to 50 pounds on one or more occasions during the work shift and occasionally up to 200 pounds with assistance from other staff or devices.
Employees will regularly be required to stand; walk; sit; use hands (or hands and arms) to carry, finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop; crouch and kneel. Employees will also be regularly required to hear (with or without hearing devices), see (with or without corrective lenses) and speak.

· Access to reliable transportation · Active valid driver’s license and driving record that has no more than two (2) points. · Maintenance of all required trainings under DDA guidelines and The Arc Northern Chesapeake Region policies and procedures. · Flexibility of scheduling to meet agency and program needs; including but not limited to, on-call nights and weekends.
