Casual On-Call Vessel Manager Job at US Ecology, Inc.
Position Snapshot:
Overall responsibility for all duties associated with the Management of the Vessel. Respond to spills and environmental emergencies.
"On Call" to respond to marine casualty and oil spill incidents 24/7.
Day in the life:

Maintain the vessel in a state of readiness for Spill Response as well as Marine Charter

Work within the guidelines as set forth in the company's Safety Management System,

Maintain all equipment in good working order,
-
Insure that the vessel is clean, orderly, will stocked with supplies and spare parts at all times,

Maintain budget for vessel, shipyard, repairs and stores,
-
Maintain a good working relationship with Federal, State and local private organizations within the industry.

Work directly with the USCG and ABS to maintain the vessel in regulatory compliance,

Monitor the working habits of all personnel aboard the vessel and participate in the company's Behavior Based Safety management program

Ensure the safety of the Crew, Equipment, Visitors and the Vessel at all times

Provide direct communications and vessel information to potential and current Marine Charter customers for the vessel
What you need to apply:

Qualified candidates will generally have a High School Diploma or equivalent.

USCG 200 Gross Ton Masters License endorsed for Near Coastal with Radar and/or ARPA Endorsement, and MMD endorsement as Tankerman / PIC.

At least 4 years of service on similar vessels including 1 year in Coastwise and Ocean service sailing as Master or Vessel Operator of vessels greater than 85 gross tons.

10% travel or as needed for vessel deployments and shipyards.

Must be able to communicate well in both verbal and written word and be proficient in the use of the computer in all aspects of communication.

Individual preferred to have extensive experience and skills in the maintenance and repair of marine engines, onboard machinery and systems.
