Caster Operator Job at DES Employment Group
DES Employment Group is looking for Casting Operators in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Caster positions work a 12-hour shift with a preset schedule for the year. The schedule consists of variations of 3 days on with 2 days off or 2 days on with 2 days off.
The exact pattern is as follows:
2 days on/ 2 days off,
3 days on/ 2 days off,
2 days on/ 3 days off.
The schedule is 7PM-7AM
There is shift incentive pay of $0.70/hr for the overnight shift
Job Requirements:
- A pre-employment background check is required
- Must be able to communicate in English for all job-related transactions
- 1-year minimum experience with heavy industrial machinery or equivalent experience from a trade school
Essential Duties:
- Expected to follow all safety rules and policies
- Works in a manner that protects themselves and other stakeholders from hazards and injuries
- Control, monitor, and operate casting station equipment from furnace set-up to completion of casting
- Review schedules to determine set up and work sequence
- Review equipment checklist
- Entering, recording, storing or maintaining information in written or electronic form
- Any other duties as assigned
Physical Demands:
- Employee may be required to sit, walk, bend, stoop, use hands, fingers, write, type, handle tools, controls, reach with hands and arms
- Exerting up to 75 lbs. of force frequently
- Exerting up to 100 lbs. of force to move objects constantly
- Job activities may involve working near hot molten metal, in temperature extremes, and high noise levels
State and National background checks required.
