Description

We are in search of a CAD Drafter to join our diverse and dynamic organization out of our Chicago office.

This role is hybrid, working 3 days/week in the Chicago office and 2 days/week remote.

As a core team member of our Substation Section, you will be interacting with an established group of engineers, designers and drafters, playing a valuable part in executing drafting of accurate drawing packages for utility power delivery projects, using MicroStation and AutoCAD.

What you will bring to the table:

  • HS diploma or drafting certificate
  • Level 1: Less than 1 year of drafting and detailing experience with AutoCAD and/or Microstation. Coursework and project work will be considered.
  • Level 2: 3+ years of drafting and detailing experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation. Coursework and project work will be considered.
  • Proficiency with the manipulation of vector and raster drawing files in AutoCAD and MicroStation.
  • Ability to create and/or modify drawings from engineer-provided markups with a high level of attention to details.
  • Skilled with file sharing, document management and collaboration tools such as ProjectWise, FTP, SharePoint, Fusion, Meridian, Autodesk Vault, Workfront etc
  • Highly organized, efficient, and detail oriented.
  • Ability to perform tasks in a fast paced engineering/production environment.

It would be nice if you had:

  • AS degree in Drafting and Design degree from an accredited institution
  • Skilled with protection and control and substation physical drawings for electric utility transmission projects
  • The ability to comprehend and implement a wide range of client CAD standards.
  • Familiarity with 3-D modelling in MicroStation, AutoCAD, and/or Inventor.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Electrical
  • Knowledge of VBA and/or AutoLisp.
  • QA/QC of drawings produced by the drafting team.
  • Command of creating process improvement policies, tools, and client specific CAD guides for drafting and engineering teams.
  • Knowledge of Doc Control, Drawing Records Management, Preliminary and final IFC issuance.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $31,200.00 - $48,000.00 - $64,800.00
