Bridge to Success Administrative Assistant (PT) Job at College of Southern Idaho
This part-time position (19.5 hrs. per week) performs Administrative Assistant support functions for the Bridge to Success Program. The Bridge program provides, for the first time, degree-seeking students a head start in their transition to CSI. The program introduces students to the academic expectations of CSI. Moreover, the program develops skills that are essential in the classroom and in the workplace, familiarizes students with valuable campus resources to increase student success, and fosters social and academic relationships with peers, faculty, and staff.
Responsible for welcoming students, parents, high schools onto the Bridge team. In addition, they assist with data entry, word processing, advising, and general office organizational support. A positive attitude, strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, customer service, technology, and computer software (Microsoft Office) skills are essential.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Create and support students’ Sense of Belonging.
- Assists program manager and team with organizing Bridge program.
- Assist with providing resources to students, parents, high schools and team.
- Assists Bridge students with general questions and problem solving.
- Main contact for incoming calls with exceptional business telephone procedures and etiquette.
- Communicates effectively with students and staff in both oral and written communication.
- Corresponds with internal and external partners to arrange meetings, appointments, and other activities.
- Work effectively with Bridge team, internal CSI partners, Early College Coordinators, and Off-Campus Center Directors.
- Works with Public Information Office (PIO) to utilize social media, text messaging, digital newsletters, and email effectively and responsibly to communicate events, meetings, and disseminate information.
- Schedules and participates in regular meetings.
- Handles routine inquiries and directs individuals to appropriate resources; takes clear and concise messages.
- Performs work requiring knowledge of the organization or program to verify documents for completeness, accuracy, and to determine compliance with department procedures.
- Compiles data and completes reports in a timely manner.
- Maintains efficient and organized filing systems, setting up new files, classifying, labeling, filing, and retrieving documents.
- Ability to effectively use technology and software to design marketing materials.
- Ability to effectively manage webpage.
- Performs additional related duties as assigned by supervisor

- Flexibility in schedule for possible evening or weekend events.
- Possible travel to high school locations.
- Bi-lingual in English and Spanish (preferred).
TECHNICAL EXPERTISE REQUIRED
- Proficiency in appropriate technology, computer software including Microsoft Office, e-mail, telephone skills, and other related office systems.
- Business communications, including proper business English usage, composition, punctuation, and spelling.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish (preferred).
EDUCATION / TRAINING REQUIRED
- In addition to skills normally acquired through completion of a high school education or equivalency, must possess specialized secretarial knowledge and training which may be obtained through vocational secretarial training or equivalent working experience.
