What You'll Do
The Branch Accountant position assists the Branch Controller in the coordination, oversight and execution of the Company’s accounting, reporting, and branch related activities. This position is also responsible for assisting the Senior Compensation Analyst and overseeing daily transactions. Strong analytical skills and problem-solving attitude are essential. Advanced MS Excel skills are needed along with a strong competence of comprehending systems and processes.
Responsibilities
- Month-end branch accounting close process
- Financial statement & analysis preparation for assigned branches
- Collaboration with accounting team and assigned branches
- Investor adjustment analysis
- Monitor branch accounting activities
- Audit expense reports
- Backup and support the senior compensation analyst
- Understanding of general ledger transactions
- Accounting practices and policies
- Ad-hoc & advanced report preparation
- Identify process improvement opportunities
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or combination of education and work experience.
- Two to three years or more of strong Accounting experience in a variety of areas including general bookkeeping, analytical analysis, financial reporting. Demonstrated experience with handling sensitive information.
- Knowledge of Microsoft suite products with emphasis in Excel.
- Familiarity and understanding of generally accepted accounting practices and principles, economic principles, applicable laws, codes and regulations.
- High degree of functional knowledge in subject matter.
- Application knowledge, analytical abilities, high energy level.
- Analytical, Integrity, Adaptability, Customer Service, Communication Skills, Initiative, Planning/Organizing, Professionalism, Emotional Intelligence.
- Office environment: Daily computer usage requires close vision. Regular attendance is required based on schedule as agreed upon by management.
