Bookseller Job at Books Inc.
Compass Books, part of Books Inc. – the West’s Oldest Independent Bookseller has been selling books to the approximately 4 million people per year who fly through SFO since 1998. Compass Books in Terminals 2 & 3 at San Francisco International Airport is looking for full time booksellers to join our independent, general interest bookstore.
Applicants must have superior customer service skills and knowledge of or eagerness to learn about books. We are hiring for opening and closing shifts – with availability on weekdays and weekends.
Wage is $19.15/hr. Includes medical, dental, vision, and 401(K) benefits. SFO badged employee parking is provided. SFO badged employees are eligible for a BART discount and childcare tuition assistance with Palcare.
Qualifications:
- Must successfully pass a ten year background and employment check.
- Must possess a High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Must be punctual and dependable in attendance.
- Must have reliable mode of transportation.
- Must have recent retail experience. Some retail managerial/supervisory experience is preferred.
- Bookselling experience is a plus, but not required.
- Must be able to accurately handle money and operate a POS system.
- Must have great customer service skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
- Must be efficient and resourceful with their time.
- Schedule must be flexible, with opening shifts starting as early as 5:00am, closing shifts lasting until 10:30pm, and with the store being open on weekends and all major holidays.
