Position Description
You will work with Barton Malow’s Business Transformation team and help develop Barton Malow's evolving data strategy. You will be responsible for working with other data engineers to deliver interfaces to Barton Malow’s data, making it possible to be consumed by internal Data and Business Analysts. You will be working with other team members (IT, Application Developers, Data Engineers) to create and maintain data pipelines to expand Barton Malow’s advanced analytics.

You will be a valued partner with cross-department teams to build strategies for effective data-quality input strategies, enabling better reporting, analytics
You will create documentation and educational materials that will help guide the organization in how to use the data platform.
Education and Experience – desired but open for discussion if you fit the bill in the other two categories.
4 years of equivalent business experience in software engineering and/or data engineering.
You have managed cloud computing resources via SDK or CLI. (AWS/Azure/GCP/Oracle/DigitalOcean).
You are familiar with DevOps/DataOps pipelines.
You have experience with containerization technologies and concepts (Docker/Kubernetes).
You are familiar with Amazon’s Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS), Azure’s Kubernetes Service (AKS). Red Hat’s Open Shift.
Demonstrated ability to apply a scientists’ approach to solving problems.
Preferred experience with creating graphical front ends to complicated underlying software systems.
Preferred experience with JavaScript/TypeScript/Python/Scala/Julia.
Preferred experience with creating and managing data ETL’s.
Preferred experience with event streaming data pipelines.
Preferred Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science, information technology or related fields or experience in the same.
Proficient in popular business collaboration tools such as Microsoft Office, Google Apps, Apple Pages, Slack, Teams, etc.

Ideally you live in Southeast Michigan, but it’s not required.
When working remotely you should have a suitable work environment.
This position may require up to 30% travel.
