The position of Billing Specialist – Insurance Accounts Receivable is Full-time and benefited, working Monday-Friday at our Administrative Office in Vancouver. Billing Specialist – Insurance Accounts Receivable overview: Resolve insurance claim rejections/denials and non-payments by requesting reconsiderations or submitting appeals. Responsible for maintaining daily account and follow-up work lists; accurately document action taken and status of claim; perform patient collections activities, process patient payments, set-up payment plan, send collection review forms to physicians; assist patients in enrolling into Patient Assistance Programs for high-cost drugs; provide customer service relating to al billing inquiries; and cross-train on other business services position for staffing coverage.

Knowledge of insurance payers including Medicare, Medicaid and commercial insurance. Charge entry, CPT and ICD10 coding. Excellent customer service skills: friendly, polite, professional and confident. Strong organizational skills. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Hardworking, detail oriented and strongly self-motivated.

Preferred knowledge, skills, abilities: EHR/EPM experience preferred (NextGen experience desirable); excellent communication and interpersonal skills; 45+ WPM; flexibility and adaptability; critical thinking; detail oriented; critical thinking; team focus.

Education – HS Diploma or equivalent required

Experience – Minimum of one year medical office scheduling experience preferred; Office experience in Ophthalmology highly desirable.

Physical/Mental demands - Prolonged standing, sitting, infrequent bending, twisting, and stooping. Ability to assist patients in emergency situations including falls to minimize impact, in a unplanned descent to the floor or an extension thereof. May team lift 25-40 lbs. Manual dexterity for phone, office machines, computer functions, 10-key.
