POSITION: ACCOUNTING / BILLING CLERK
COMPENSATION: STARTING $25 PER HR (D.O.E.) + HEALTH BENEFITS

Petro Distributors, a well-established petroleum company with headquarters in BEVERLY HILLS, CA is seeking to hire an Accountant / Billing Clerk. This is an amazing opportunity to come and grow with a major and reputable petroleum company that has been dominating the industry for over 40+ years.

To perform a variety of routine clerical accounting duties including overseeing all money transactions, billing, purchasing and appropriate reconciliations. Process payments, respond to customer complaints and inquiries; and to perform a variety of clerical tasks relative to the assigned area of responsibility.

ESSENTIAL AND OTHER IMPORTANT RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

*Compile and prepare appropriate data for account receivable billing and accounts payable vouchers.
*Receive, sort and process a variety of transportation documents, invoices and billings for posting all expenditures and revenues for specific cost centers.
*Organize, process and maintain payment documentation and vendor remittance data.
*Perform a variety of general clerical duties including typing, maintaining files and records and processing the mail.
*Ensure accuracy of data and input documents into a computerized accounting program.
*Prepare credit memorandums to indicate returned or incorrectly billed items.
*Run computer generated reports as necessary and review for accuracy.
*Balance and compile month-end reports.
*Research transactions to resolve problems.
*Assigns customer accounting numbers to new customers.
*Maintains customer account numbers which includes key information, such as mailing and shipping addresses, phone numbers, other contact information, terms, customer category and discount level if applicable.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:

*Knowledge of basic clerical accounting principles and procedures.
*Knowledge of Windows, Excel and Word.
*Knowledge of basic principles and procedures of record keeping.
*Knowledge of arithmetic.
*Ability to accurately tabulate, record and balance assigned transactions.
*Detail oriented and follow-through requires.
*Must be able to maintain a variety of records and files.
*Ability to type at a speed necessary for successful job performance.
*Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
*A team player.
*Customer Service Oriented.

Job Type: Full-time
