Non Union - up to 19 hours
Salary: Commensurate with experience/starting at minimum wage $14.25
General Description:
Under the direction of the Deputy Recreation Director, this position is responsible for quality scorekeeping during the East Longmeadow Recreation Department games. Must be available nights and weekends.
Responsibilities:
- Effective game oversight and scorekeeping during game play without any distractions, especially personal (example: Cell phone use).
- Ability to work with the referees to assure smooth game management.
- Must be on-time with the required equipment, supplies, and/or paperwork.
- Must have access to email/internet in order to confirm shifts and swap shifts with coworkers.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of the game of basketball, rules of each age range and league.
- Ability to effectively use a scorebook and scoreboard.
- Knowledge of East Longmeadow Recreation Department programs, facility rules and regulations, and Recreation Department Policies.
- Ability to establish and maintain courteous, effective working relationships with civic groups, the public, the media and other town employees and officials.
- Ability to communicate in English clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- First Aid Certification, CPR & AED not required, but appreciated.
- Knowledge of basketball rules preferred.
