This position will report to the Vice President of Global Public Affairs, based in Danbury, Connecticut.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain key relationships with U.S.-based media contacts; serve as primary Linde point of contact in the U.S.
  • Manage day-to-day media requests for corporate issues
  • Develop standards of excellence for our social media activities and ensure social media strategies meet business and other stakeholders needs, responsible for social media monitoring/listening and analysis
  • Work collaboratively within the Global Public Affairs Department to support global media relations and government affairs objectives; increase Linde’s brand awareness (in the U.S.) and foster its reputation with customers, employees, investors and government officials
  • Work directly with senior leadership and business units on media relations/responses and social media strategies including legal, human resources and investor relations, among others
  • Active advancement of Linde business interests via U.S. media and social media
  • Develop written materials including draft press releases, potential Q&A as required
  • Ability to understand of how to communicate complex concepts, including the company’s vision, values and brand, in a clear and concise manner

Requirements

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in media relations/communications; corporate experience preferable
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations or related field
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with strong writing and editorial abilities
  • Working knowledge especially in the areas of new and emerging digital communications tools but also of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, (social) media monitoring/listening and analytical software and other public relations tools
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Capable of maintaining confidentiality
  • Calm and approachable, with the flexibility to manage large-scale change. Loyal, determined, and familiar with working at pace and to tight deadlines
