TITLE: Assistant to VP of Ethics, Diversity and Inclusion

I. MAJOR FUNCTIONS:
Under the strategic direction of the Vice President of Ethics, Diversity and Inclusion, the administrative manager will provide high level administrative assistance to support the work and priorities of the ethics, professional review, diversity and inclusion departments. Performs a variety of duties in coordination with the Professional Review Associate and the Senior Ethics Associate to facilitate the ethics and professional review processes. Provides staff support for the Office of Ethics, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI), national and chapter staff and volunteers.
II. BASIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages the EDI website including content development and maintenance, with a view towards marketing current initiatives and transparently showcasing progress of the program for the good of the Association.
- Provides customer service to parties in a complaint process; explains procedures, validates membership and refers calls to the Professional Review Associate, Senior Ethics Associate, or VP of Ethics, Diversity and Inclusion, as appropriate.
- Establishes and maintains filing systems for D&I, Ethics, and professional review, with particular attention to confidentiality; this would include data analyses, assessments, reviews, and other records. Updates and maintains professional review case records and reports. Maintains all volunteer lists. Performs initial screening of ethics communications (e.g., telephonic or written) and routes to appropriate ethics staff member. Prepares and sends decision and other letters in a timely and confidential manner. Drafts, edits, and proofreads correspondence and other documents as needed.
- Assists in providing a full range of additional office support services, such as printing, copying, collating, and mailing documents; obtaining office supplies and equipment repair services; and processing petty cash requests, purchase orders and check requests, expenses and reimbursements and payment of invoices, VP scheduling, travel planning and meeting follow up.
- Provides additional support as necessary, completes other duties as assigned to ensure the effective and efficient functioning of all areas of EDI.
III. MINIMUM WORK REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge:
- High School or GED required; preference for a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
- Knowledge of IMIS, Microsoft Office and social media platforms.
- Knowledge of ethical practice.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of related work experience, preferably at a professional association and/or nonprofit setting with multiple state chapters.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience and responsibility for organizing events or similar activities.
- Preference for 3 years of experience in assisting in creating diversity, equity and inclusion efforts in the workplace.

COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement
NASW policy generally requires that all employees complete a primary COVID-19 vaccination series and receive a booster vaccination when eligible. (Employees are not required to obtain an updated (bivalent) booster, which became available in September 2022, if they received a booster previously, but are encouraged to do so when eligible.) If an offer of employment is made, the candidate, as a condition of employment, will be required to provide documentation (such as a CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card) showing that they satisfy this requirement. If the candidate does not currently meet this requirement but will in the near future, NASW may be able to postpone the start date to allow the candidate to be compliant with the requirement. Candidates may request a medical or religious exemption for this requirement.
