Assistant Project Manager Job at Preston Refrigeration

Summary:
The Assistant Project Manager position handles Preston Refrigeration's ongoing projects to ensure that all project requirements, deadlines and schedules are meeting timelines.
Duties:
- Coordinate with Project Manager for responsibilities on project level oversight.
- Confer with clients and other members of the engineering team and conduct research to determine project requirement.
- Develop construction specifications and procedures.
- Builds customer relations in a positive manner, handles any discrepancies.
- Track and analyze project performance.
- Monitor budget requirements and adjust accordingly.
- Track and communicate any project change orders and issues.
- Order all necessary materials and drawings.
- Communicate objectives and schedule directly with the project superintendent.
- Conduct post project evaluation and identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
- Assists PSM Assistant during Quality Assurance Program Audits when on site.
- Willingness to travel as needed throughout the continental US.
- Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed, brings problems to the attention of the Safety Director.
- Adheres to Preston Refrigeration guidelines for expense reports and submits to Payroll Specialist in a timely manner.
- Maintain a neat and clean appearance and motivated, positive attitude.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Preferred experience with ammonia refrigeration systems.
- Proficient in Word, Outlook and Excel.
- Experience of leading a team of individuals through projects to completion.
- Ability to travel 75% of the time with overnight stays when required.
- Effective communication skills.
