Primary Responsibilities
The core teaching responsibilities for this position are Pathogenic Microbiology and Immunology. Other classes may include Virology, Microbial Genetics, Cell and Organismal Biology, and other biology courses as needed by the department. The successful candidate will provide support for the graduate program and the biomedical programs. Additionally, the ideal candidate will develop a research program in their area of interest involving graduate and undergraduate students. Undergraduate advising of Biomedical Sciences (pre-med) students is expected.
- Ph.D. or ABD (with Ph.D. by August 1, 2023) in Biology or related field (degree must be from a regionally accredited or internationally accredited/government certified university)
- Evidence of active research in microbiology with the potential to engage Southeast students in significant research activities
- Experience teaching at college/university level as a graduate assistant, instructor, or above
- Demonstrated commitment to collegiality when interacting with others within the University community
- Demonstrated commitment to a diverse work environment, including working with multi-cultural populations and an understanding of, and sensitivity to, issues affecting women and minorities

Candidates should be versed in implementing innovative methods of course delivery, appropriate applications of technology, and progressive pedagogical methodologies.
