Providence Hall is seeking an Assistant Basketball Coach to assist in instructing athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success. At the same time, the student shall receive instruction that will lead to the formation of moral values, pride of accomplishment, acceptable social behavior and self-confidence.

The success of the athletic programs has a strong influence on the community image of the entire system. The public exposure is a considerable responsibility and community/parent pressure on the winning performance is taxing, but must not over-ride the objective of good sportsmanship, good mental health, and the safety of the athletes.

This is a stipend-based position.

Essential Job Functions:
-Previous successful coaching or playing experience or knowledge in the assigned sport
-Must have knowledge of the background in the assigned sport
-Substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and at the same time must continue to examine new theories and procedures pertinent to the sport
-Knowledge of basic rules of the activity and specific safety concerns
-Ability to work effectively with other coaches, staff and students
-Reliable, punctual when showing up for practices, events, games, etc.
-Attends all practices, games, events and competitions for the purpose of coaching students to their full potential
-Creates an environment conducive to learning for the purpose of developing students physically, socially and emotionally
-Evaluates students' practices and performances for the purpose of giving valuable feedback and critique to the students
-Manages the equipment for the purpose of making sure all items required for the event are accounted for
-Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective function of the work unit
-Prepares students for games for the purpose of setting students up for success, while following UHSAA guidelines
-Schedules individual or group sessions for the purpose of providing individualized instruction to enhance student skill level
-Supervises students at any extra-curricular events for the purpose of ensuring proper student behavior in accordance with school policies
-Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions for the purpose of protecting students, equipment, materials and facilities
-Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Cleared background check
Experience in the sport (min of 2 years)
Coaching experience preferred

Pay: From $1,200.00 per year
