This position is considered At-Will and will serve at the pleasure of the CEO.
Position Summary:
Responsible for overseeing daily operations of health information management (medical records) department to include staff supervision, quality assurance, scheduling, monitoring work flow and preparing productivity reports. Contributes to the development of hospital performance improvement strategies. Duties include directing and supervising staff responsible for records management, supporting activities with data analysis, providing technical assistance and establishing standards and procedures.
Job Requirement
Education/Experience:
Equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Information Management and five (5) years of experience in medical records management in a major hospital setting, two (2) years of which were in a supervisory/managerial role.
Licensing/Certification Requirements:
Registered Health Information Technician or Registered Health Information Administrator.
Additional and/or Preferred Position Requirements
- Inpatient Coding experience in a Level 1 trauma hospital setting
- Outpatient and Professional Fee Coding experience
- Coding Audit experience a plus
- Extensive working knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT
- Working knowledge of 3M-360 or similar platform
- Five (5) years coding experience
- Coding certifications: CCS and either RHIT or RHIA
- Certification in Epic Coding preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $79,560.00 - $127,296.00 per year
