Justfab / Shoedazzle is currently looking for an Assistant Designer, Apparel.
How Do You Fit In?
As the Women’s Assistant Designer, Apparel, you would be responsible for working with the design team to identify fabrics, trims, finishes and styling details, creating detailed CADs and tech packs, maintaining and updating line sheets via Google Docs and sketches in Adobe Illustrator. In addition, the Assistant Designer will be assisting with design and development of products from conception to production in collaboration with design leads and cross-functional product creation partners. The right candidate would be a meticulous and detail-oriented individual with a solid understanding of garment construction, fit and finishing.
This position will report to the Senior Designer.
What You Will Do:
- Assist with market research of our competitors with team for inspiration and product opportunities
- Research fabrics, finishes and styling details to present to the Sr. Designer and Design Director for review
- Work with design team to design and develop products until ready for production, ensuring quality and consistency as it relates to fit, fabric and finish of approved design direction
- Understand and consider factors of costing, proactively escalating exceptions to the Designer for review and approval
- Create, maintain and update construction details, including fit commentary and design changes in PLM and line sheets
- Adhere to time and action calendar communicated to you by Design leadership
- Build cross-functional relationships with merchandising, product development, tech, production, and marketing and proactively communicate pertinent changes and/or updates accordingly
- Contribute positively to team dynamic and manage up where necessary
- Ability to follow through on tasks assigned to you by the Designer and Design Leadership
- Able to maintain a constant sense of urgency while being creative
- Create designs that support line plans, assortment strategies, price points that are consistent with current market trends, working with Designer on preparation for design review
- Attend and assist in fittings. Come with clear design intent and work with Designer to achieve desired fit

What You Can Bring:
- 1+ years previous design experience
- Previous experience with fast fashion womenswear brand is a plus
- Understanding of the marketplace and competitive set
- Strong Illustrator and Photoshop sketching skills required
- Working knowledge of PLM, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft PowerPoint, Office and Excel
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Suites is a plus
- Excellent communication skills – verbal, written and presentation
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

The annual base salary range for this position is from $49,900 to $71,500. The range provided includes the base salary that JF Brands expects to pay for the role. Offered base salary will be dependent on factors including the scope and complexity of the role, candidate’s related work experience, subject matter expertise and work location
