Assistant Clinical Manager Job at VNA Care
Position Summary:
Assists Clinical Manager with the activity of clinical team members and assumes responsibility to meet VNA Care and clinical department goals and VNA Care core values. Once trained this role is primarily remote and will flex to cover offices.
Functions & Responsibilities:
- Communicates findings, issues and problems regarding compliance, documentation and clinical practice to Client Care Service Manager, appropriate manager and others as appropriate using effective communication skills.
- Monitors capacity levels to ensure appropriate resources for client needs; determines and adjusts capacity management/collaboration with schedulers as needed. Triages client referral sources and staffing needs and works to improve the client experience through consistency in capacity patterns.
- Assists in obtaining physician orders to expedite client care and serves as a resource to providers to facilitate processing new orders.
- Promotes and facilitates understanding of the fiscal impact of all clinical practices and documentation.
- Provides clinical management supervision and oversight in the absence of the Clinical Manager.
- Provides clinical manager support in homecare/homebase workflow as needed.
- Maintains knowledge of third party reimbursement requirements and regulations and applies knowledge effectively to the review process.
- Provides direct service excellence to key providers and referral groups, building and enriching relationships, identifying needs, problem solving and meeting or exceeding expectations of external customers.
- Demonstrates initiative and takes action to satisfy customers and takes responsibility for ensuring a positive experience for outcomes.
- Shares firsthand customer information with appropriate groups that can be used for service design, evaluation and improvement.
- Helps resolve problems that affect service, efficiency, productivity and customer satisfaction and participates in service recovery as needed.
- Identifies when a situation or problem goes beyond ability to resolve and escalates to the appropriate Agency staff.
- Participates in weekend on-call rotation for Clinical Manager duties as needed
- Ensures all documentation supports the clinical acuity, functional ability of the patient and the reimbursement needed to support the patient service care needs.
- Performs joint visits, meets and communicates with clinicians as indicated
Education
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, or Graduate of Diploma or Associate Degree Program in Nursing or related Healthcare Degree.
- Licensed to practice in Massachusetts.
- Oasis Certification preferred.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive clinical home health care experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Medicare Prospective Payment System, OASIS and compliance issues in homecare.
