Assistant Caster
Responsible for assisting Caster Operator by maintaining metal flow in series of molds. As the metal is being poured, monitor pressure flows through high pressure water system by ensuring metal solidification.
Duties:
- Modify settings of, clean and/or prepare molds as necessary
- Sand or chip to remove foreign matter from molds and/or furnace using abrasive paper
- Connect water system and set appropriate pressure
- Operate throttle valves regulating flow of metal from distributor box to mold and observe level of metal in distributor box notifying Caster Operator of need to increase or decrease desired metal flow as needed
- Cover mold and distributor box with powdered substance and/or charcoal
Experience:
- High School Diploma/GED
