ASPIRe Job Coach (3 Positions, Autism Grant Funded) Job at Texarkana Independent School District
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Provide physical and instructional support for students with autism spectrum disorders in the special education and vocational settings in order to promote student employability and independence within the job setting.
This position is funded by the Innovative Services to Students with Autism Grant, with the primary purpose of supporting grant activities aimed at improving services to students with autism.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
Associate’s degree from accredited college or university or 60 minimum college hours
Coursework in education, psychology, behavior, or social work preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Excellent and effective organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
Calm and patient demeanor
Ability to work effectively with students and manage their behavior
Ability to effectively present information to students
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Ability to work well with others
Strong technology skills
Experience:
1-2 years experience working with elementary and/or secondary school age youth
