Responsibilities

  • Ensure strict adherence to HSE standards and continuous improvement activities
  • Escalation of incidents immediately with follow up investigation, root cause and CAPA completed and shared in SPIN document for above first aid accidents.
  • Ensure strict adherence to quality/GMP standards and continuous improvement activities
  • Escalation of quality issues/deviations immediately with follow up investigation, root cause and CAPA completed and shared in SPIN document for majors and Trackwise
  • Drives for Right First-Time performance on batch documentation
  • Ensure up to date SOPs and OJTs in place for all activities and full compliance to training for required team members
  • Ensure no changes to processes or equipment are carried out without approved change control in place – SME approver of department change controls
  • Approval of weekly production schedule to optimize efficiency but deliver service requirements
  • Alignment with planning team on monthly and weekly MPS targets based on labour and capacity availability and ensuring balance throughout the month
  • Management of department RCCPs with planning team
  • Ensure production adherence to production schedule and escalation of deviations to the plan including labour and shift allocation
  • Responsible for line OEE and waste performance KPIs and continuous improvement
  • Ensure escalation process for line stoppages and under target OEE is followed
  • Support Team Lead and Shift Supervisors in coordinating support function resource to priority lines
  • OEE reporting process – monitor shift reporting, daily and weekly review with area team and support functions; provide monthly downtime data and action plan for regional reporting
  • Control OEE and waste action trackers and ensure completion within agreed deadlines
  • Set up visual management & parameters and establish KPI measurement system & procedure
  • Management of department cost centre for controllable budgets – direct labour, overtime, temp spend and consumables
  • Plan and forecast budget creation and justification based on RCCP data
  • Routing creation for departmental COGS based on validated run rates and labour allocation
  • Ensure training for department teams is complete and up to date
  • Provide strategy for cross-training within team to ensure BCP for core roles
  • Review absence and lateness trending and disciplinary policy as required
  • Drive team engagement to ensure strong performance on all KPIs
  • Support site employee recognition schemes
  • Coaching and development of Shift Supervisors and Team Leads – monthly 1 on 1's with direct reports
  • Manage department headcount versus plan and forecast targets and demand
  • Recruitment of team leads and above and support TRM in operator recruitment
  • Approval of protocols, trials and projects in the area (SME approval on Trackwise)
  • Input into new equipment URS’s for department
  • Departmental scorecard update and review
  • Balancing priorities maintaining high quality products made efficiently in a safe environment
  • Changing the culture of the factory to accept more ownership for performance and results
  • Leading and driving the performance of individuals in large teams
  • Challenge teams to make their own decisions and accept responsibility for the outcome
  • Ensure that briefings are 2-way events focussed on driving KPI improvements
  • Identifying, recommending and implementing process improvements.
  • Being central to factory performance managing multiple support function stakeholders

Qualifications

  • AS or BS degree in related field
  • Strong MS Office Skills – Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams
  • Knowledge of SAP and Quality Systems preferred
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing and supply chain processes
  • Exhibits leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Openness to change and ability to think out of the box
  • Entrepreneurial skills in terms of innovation and problem solving are key along with tenacity, tough-mindedness and ability to influence and demonstrate strong team working abilities and commitment
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to plan, prioritize and organize work and resources appropriate to requirements
  • Experience of working as part of a multifunctional team, ability to network & build effective working relationships with people within and external to the organization at all levels
  • Enjoys the challenges and demands of an ever-changing platform
  • Views information objectively, makes logical assumptions and remains calm under pressure
