The Township of East Brunswick is accepting applications for a regular full-time position of Senior Field Specialist/Arborist in the Department of Parks & Recreation. The successful candidate will perform a variety of arbor related skilled tasks, specifically the maintenance and removal of trees in Township parks, public lands, and right of ways. Will serve as a lead employee in coordination and implementation of the on-site flow of work assignments to ensure safety and productivity. The candidate may substitute for the Field Operations Organizer in their absence. Performs related duties as required. This position responds to inclement weather and tree emergencies 24/7.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Requires high school diploma or equivalency. Requires 1 year of experience as an Arborist performing all types of tree work.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Licensing & Certifications: Valid N.J. driver’s license. Must possess or be able to obtain a New Jersey commercial driver’s license (CDL), Class “A” endorsement. Must possess or be able to obtain an arborist certification through the International Society of Arboriculture.
