Look no further! Alaska Carpenters Training Trust (ACTT) is a DOL federally registered Apprenticeship Program that provides tuition free industry leading training. We have two training centers in the state of Alaska: our Northern Training Center in Fairbanks which offers a Carpenters Apprenticeship and our Southern Training Center in Anchorage which offers a Carpenters Apprenticeship and a Pile Drivers Apprenticeship.

We are accepting applications from January 3rd, 2023 with a deadline of March 31st, 2023.

-Class starting on May 22nd, 2023 for Carpenters, if accepted.

-Class starting on April 10th, 2023 for Pile Drivers, if accepted.

The apprenticeship programs are 4 years, 7,000 hours for carpenters and 4 years 6,000 hours for Pile Drivers in length. Apprentices will take in-class training for 240 hours (6 weeks) for carpenters and 160 hours (4 weeks) each year, while not in class they will receive on-the-job training with a signatory contractor when work is available. Pay upgrades are given every 875 hours worked on the job, this is equivalent to approximately $2.00 per raise and is given automatically! Wages are not paid while attending in-class training. There is no fee to apply, ACTT pays for all tuition and training costs; however, apprentices may have to pay for their books, tools, and travel expenses. Financial assistance may be available for those that qualify.

In order to be officially considered, the following MUST be submitted or apply to you by the closing date of applications. (March 31st, 2023):

-Completed application: www.alaskacarpenterstraining.org

-Be at least 18 years of age or turn 18 by start of class (May 22nd, 2023)

-Be an Alaskan resident for a minimum of 30 days prior to closing date of application deadline (March 31st, 2023)

-Possess a valid driver's license

-Willingness to take a drug and alcohol screen

-Be mentally and physically capable of performing the essential functions of the occupation without endangering the health and safety of yourself and/or fellow workers.

-Copy of VALID driver’s license

-Copy of social security card

-Proof of Alaskan residency (permanent fund receipt, hunting/fishing license, piece of mail, etc.)

-Copy of high school diploma and transcripts OR copy of equivalent (GED)

-Copy of a pay-stub or W2 within the past 5 years

-Copy of DD-214, if applicable
