Apprentice Tool & Die Maker - Prototype
Do you like to work with your hands and equipment? Penn United Technologies, Inc. is seeking to fill a position in our Prototype area for our Tooling division. On your way to become a Journeyworker, you will work in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment, building and developing low volume tooling and using that tooling to produce a wide variety of parts for our customers.

Responsibilities:
- Read prints & job orders to determine dimensions and machine set-up
- Learn to set-up and operate various machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, surface grinders, and presses in order to machine or grind components to precise specifications.
- Attend on-site, paid apprenticeship classes in addition to on-the-job learning while performing responsibilities on the shop floor
- Fit and assemble tooling
- Communicate with co-workers and your team leader to receive instructions and coordinate activities
Qualifications:
- High level of mechanical ability/ aptitude and enjoyment working hands-on with equipment
- Analytical ability and ability to make decisions
- Excellent math skills/aptitude
- Ability and desire to do precision work
- Must be able to work shifts, occasionally lift up to 50 lbs, and stand/sit for 8 hours per day
- Ability to multi-task and work on multiple tools in various stages of completion at the same time
- Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent
