Telecommunications Apprenticeship Opportunity for Juneau Area Residents

Alaska Communications is partnering with NECA/IBEW Apprenticeship to offer a telecommunicators apprenticeship in Juneau. The successful applicant will be a full‐time employee of Alaska Communications

All qualifying applicants will be scheduled for an interview.

To meet the minimum qualifications for an apprenticeship, applicants must:

1. Be a minimum of 18 years of age at the time of selection.

2. Have a valid driver’s license.

3. Have a high school diploma or state-issued GED certificate.

4. Meet the minimum math requirement through one of the following:

a. Two semesters of high school algebra 1 (or higher-level algebra) with a passing grade of ‘C’ or higher,

b. one post-high school algebra course with a passing grade,

c. a certificate showing completion of the NJATC tech math course, or

d. the State of Alaska Work Keys math test with a ‘6’ or higher.

QUALIFICATIONS

You must submit all the following items to be considered for an interview:

1. Online application form.

2. Copy of driver's license.

3. Submit your full individual driving record dated within the last 90 days.

4. OFFICIAL transcripts for high school and post-high school education and training, including GED records if applicable.

5. Copy of high school diploma or GED certificate (high school transcripts are sufficient if they state that you obtained a diploma).

6. Documentation showing that you meet the minimum math requirement.

7. Pay the $25 application fee
