Summary
The Applications System Analyst II designs configures, supports, and maintains all electronic medical records (EMR’s) used by the clinics. Provides ongoing analysis and problem-solving to ensure effective workflow, utilization, and process design of the software and provides training and on-call support.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manages EMR capabilities, analyzes data, and creates efficient and logical solutions for optimal utilization and throughput of clinic workflow.
- Possesses and applies knowledge of the electronic medical record for optimal utilization.
- Assesses and prioritizes the needs of the customers.
- Performs routine maintenance on the systems’ EMR tables.
- Proactively researches, identifies, and communicates any system changes in the EMR systems.
- Assists with the implementation of new system projects such as new clinic system start-up, new interfaces and EMR conversions.
- Works with the Health System in the configuration of the EMR systems.
- Utilizes organizational project management methodology, processes, and systems to ensure effective and efficient project development and completion.
- Able to professionally present and train end users with knowledge to maximize their use of developed systems.
- Develop training manuals and Tip Sheets as needed.
- Provides application software and system access support to all entities.
- Identifies ways of improving systems and workflows.
- Consults with management regarding issues and problems.
- Works well with others by recognizing the value of diversity. Promotes and maintains harmonious and effective relationships, remain open to new viewpoints, and effective communication with other departments.
- Strives to promote the quality and efficiency of his/her own performance by maintaining current with the latest trends in the field.
- Available after business hours for urgent system-related issues.

Education and/or Experience Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience required. (Equivalent years of experience are determined as one year of experience for every year of college requested).
5 years of IT and or EMR (EPIC/Experity) System Application experience or 7 years of experience in a healthcare clinical or business operations setting. EPIC certified or credentialed as a Super User required.
Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business information, professional journals, and technical procedures. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Reasoning Ability Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products- Word, PowerPoint. Advanced knowledge in Excel.
