We are recruiting for an Application Developer/Java Developer to support a Chief Information Officer initiative. Broad experience with hands-on development including designing, building and configuring Java applications to meet business process and application requirements is required for consideration. Prior Air Force experience in a similar role is a plus.

Location: Partial telework from Wash DC Metro with one day/week on-site at Andrews Air Force Base
Position Type: This is a full-time W-2 position

Role and Responsibilities:

• Support a variety of application development tasks for a Chief Information Officer
• Design, build and configure applications to meet business process and application requirements
• Refactor existing Java code within AWS Elastic Beanstalk application to Corretto to maintain applications against AWS end of life for Java versions on Linux
• Support program documentation, as needed
• Other duties, as assigned

Requirements include:

• U.S. citizenship
• Current Public Trust - minimum requirement and must be in active status
• Bachelor's degree
• 3+ years of direct experience with application development using Java Code in a Linux environment
• Current CompTIA Security+ certification (or equivalent to meet DoD 8570 requirement)
• Experience with AWS Elastic Beanstalk
• Experience with application development using Amazon Corretto
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Experience maintaining program documentation
• Ability to support individual tasks and team projects
• Experience working in a collaborative team with cross-functional teams in a blended government and contractor environment
• Availability to work on-site one day each week at Andrews AFB
