Full-Time, Exempt
The Reporting Business Analyst will be responsible for one or more aspects of the Operational Reporting delivery lifecycle, including project management, business analysis, data, training, documentation, and support. The candidate must be extremely detail-oriented, have the ability to multitask, and be able to prioritize work and conversations to most effectively meet needs as the business grows
MAIN DUTIES/REPSONSIBILITIES
  • -Provides data analysis and projected utilization and costs for all lines of business and sub-groupings in aggregate for appropriate action.
  • -Performs monthly analysis of actual utilization and cost trends and compares/adjusts projected rates.
  • -Performs quarterly data pulls for rebate submissions and reconciliations.
  • -Evaluates and identifies inappropriate prescribing patterns from prescription and medical claims data for potential action by appropriate personnel.
  • -Coordinates paid claims data transfer between MVP and Pharmacy Benefit Manager, performs quality checks.
  • -Performs studies on data on previous and current utilization; downloading data from mainframe to PC; utilize software such as Excel, Access, and Pharmacy Benefit Manager programs.
  • -Evaluates and tests data; validates data; creates charts/graphs; summarizes results both verbally and in writing; identifies impact to organization from results. Subject Matter Expert on pharmacy claims and data. Represents Pharmacy Department on Data Governance initiatives. Performs other duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and directly related experience will be considered

Minimum Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in data analysis and report development. 2 years of previous work experience in healthcare/health insurance environment preferred

Required Skills:
  • Intermediate skills with Excel, Access and other reporting tools
  • Experience using data analysis and visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau
  • Familiarity with downloading; word processing, database, and spreadsheet skills
  • Understanding of automation tools to streamline reporting processes
  • Exceptional organizational and strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Superior attention to detail and strong project management skills
  • Team player with ability to adapt to a fast-pace, changing environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and professionally
  • Exceptional skills in critical thinking and problem-solving
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Preferred Skills:
  • Knowledge of and working experience with reading and writing SQL for report maintenance and creation
  • Experience with Data Governance initiatives
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics
