Ambulatory Office Supervisor Job at Wheeling Hospital
- Provides service that meets the patient’s needs, with expectations toward continuous improvement.
- Utilizes the nursing process as follows:
- Performs patient assessment by collecting and analyzing data using simple and complete techniques & makes decisions based on the condition of the patient
- Develops a plan of care by collaborating with interdisciplinary staff to determine priorities, goals, measurable objectives, and plans interventions.
- Selects interventions, assumes or assigns responsibilities based on principle of nursing devised from the biological, physical, and social science.
- Evaluates quality and effectiveness of interventions as it relates to patient outcomes, success or failure, and communicates appropriately to patient care team.
- Performs systematic use of decision making to improve patient safety and identify and resolve problems.
- Develop and maintain nursing policies and procedures for the family medicine center and update in a timely manner.
- Interview and orient new staff within appropriate timeframe; assess development needs for staff and offer opportunities for professional growth.
- Monitors patient volumes, staffing ratios according to residency guidelines and intervenes to accomplish efficient operations.
- Conduct unit-specific performance improvement projects.
- Responsible for compliance with Joint Commission, hospital policies, and other regulatory standards.
- Implement and monitor special programs such as BCCSP, WVSIIS, grants, etc.
- Train staff to be the back-up to various manager duties.
- Maintains customer relations in regards to inquires of a routine nature from patients, families, visitors, physicians & other hospital staff members.
- Oversee and direct special functions in a timely manner according to the department and hospital policy, including but not limited to: new patient applications, potential patient terminations, substance policies.
13. Responsible for nursing staff in the Family Medicine Center and associated satellites.
14.. Completes assignments and meets deadlines.
15. Meets expectations in regards to regular attendance and punctuality when scheduled to work.
16. Performs all other duties as assigned.
Work related Experience: Minimum 5 years previous nursing experience.
Education: Graduate of a registered nursing program.
Additional relevant experience/education or certification required: Current licensure in the state of West Virginia and/or Ohio. BLS Certification is required within 1 year of hire to position.
