Freeflight Composites was founded in 2003 in Falcon, CO to provide specialized services to composite experimental aircraft owners. We have a proven track record in providing the highest quality construction, modification, maintenance, and customization for a great variety of aircraft including Rutan VeriEZE, Long-EZ, Quickie, Berkut, Cozy, Velocity, ERacer, Glasair, Lancair, and many more. Because we specialize in providing custom services for handbuilt experimental aircraft, our work is always changing. We provide a variety of skill sets and services including composites, systems, electrical, avionics, inspections, custom design, CAD, and custom manufacturing. We follow high standards for safety, aesthetics, and overall quality for all the work that we perform.

Composite Technicians provide the skills for our most essential services. As a Composite Technician you would be building complete fiberglass structures for a variety of custom applications. These structures include the foam cores, fiberglass layups, and filler and finishing the surface so that it is ready for paint.

Responsibilities:

  • Cut and apply fiberglass layups to a variety of different aircraft structures with minimal supervision. Must understand how to use all materials associated with layups correctly in any application.
  • Cut, shape, and install fiberglass foam-core panels in a variety of applications.
  • Apply all different types of fairing and finishing materials to any structure as is appropriate for the specific application.
  • Sand and finish all fairings materials, including micro-balloon filler, icing, fairing compounds, and primers, on any portion of the aircraft and any shape of the structure.
  • All work completed must meet standard requirements for safety and aesthetic quality.

This position is an entry level position and you are not required to have previous experience with composites or to provide your own tools. We will provide any training that is necessary for you build these amazing aircraft.

Requirements

  • High School GED or equivalent
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
  • Must be able to meat the physical requirements of the position
  • Must be able to reliably work full time every week

  • If you have previous experience working with composites or aircraft that is great. However, we will provide all necessary training, even if you have absolutely no previous experience.
