Responsibilities include:

• The Aerospace Mechanical Technician will apply technical knowledge to solve a range of complex problems within the scope of contracted duties of PAT.
• Interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings, designing, developing, and constructing mechanical apparatuses, devices, equipment, or component.
• Redesign/Modify equipment/components/parts to fit with divergent configurations or to enhance capabilities.
• Analyze technical data to determine applicability to design problems.
• Calculate design data, preparing and documenting layouts, detailed specifications, parts lists, estimates, procedure

• Programming and operating CNC machinery to produce/modify components/parts
• Independently planning and accomplishing complete projects of broad scope and complexity or serving as an expert in CAD/CAM or related engineering
• Devising creative approaches to accomplish work, resolving design and operational problems, and making decisions in situations where standard engineering methods, procedures, and techniques may not be applicable
• Preparing designs and specifications for various complex components or systems; planning approaches to solve design problems; conceiving and recommending new design techniques
• Resolving design problems with contract or Government personnel; assuring compatibility of design(s) with other parts of the system(s)
• Designing and coordinating test set-ups, experiments, and prototypes to prove or disprove the feasibility of preliminary designs, using untried and untested measurement techniques
• Improving the performance of the equipment, components, and systems; advising equipment, component, and system users on redesigns to solve unique operational deficiencies
• Arranging for fabrication of pilot models and prototypes and determining test procedures and designs of special test equipment.
• Capable of obtaining and maintaining US Department of Defense (DoD) secret security clearance or other level as determine by contract
• US Citizenship is required

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience supporting flight simulation training devices.

Experiences:

• Three years minimum experience in: various trades such as metal design and fabrication, welding, machining, woodworking, and pattern/mold making; programming and operating CNC machinery to produce/modify components/parts; setting-up and operating a variety of automated presses, punches, brakes, waterjet machining centers, shears, mills, lathes, welders, etc
• Interpreting blueprints and mechanical drawings; designing, developing, and constructing mechanical apparatuses, devices, equipment, or components
