Position Summary
Under general direction of the Registrar, the Admissions Coordinator performs professional-level duties in ensuring all direction, administration and supervision of admissions transactions are provided in a timely and accurate manner and in the compliance with all applicable college, state, and federal regulations, policies, and guidelines. Provides support to potential students and help currently enrolled students in evaluating student credentials, checking standardized test scores, reviewing applications, maintain student records, and reading high school transcripts. Performs other duties as assigned
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Serves as a resource to the admissions team, providing direction on policies and procedures and resolving problems.
  • Interpret new policies and how they will affect development and implementation of Student Information System (SIS).
  • Provide assistance and information to students in the completion of applications for admissions.
  • Configure all admission processes within SIS.
  • Develop and execute reports as necessary.
  • Oversee and maintain admission application and processes.
  • Set up new admissions terms, academic years and codes as necessary with SIS.
  • Develop and maintain validation tables and admission process rules.
  • Develop and maintain processes to manually admit students.
  • Develop, maintain and collaborate with stakeholders for improved process and appropriate reporting to adhere to IPEDS, HED, and other reporting requirements.
  • Assist in preparation of data reports and data clean-up.
  • Assist institutional, community and high school stakeholders in troubleshooting admission issues.
  • Maintain correspondence and processes of correspondence to students.
  • Create and maintain admission codes and populations selections.
  • Develop and maintain SIS policies and procedures for admissions
  • Train staff, as appropriate, on admission and records processes and maintain knowledge of how student functions impact student billing.
  • Provide effective written and verbal communication for various stakeholders to include but not limited to community, prospective, parents, staff and faculty.
  • Collaborate with appropriate individuals for updating admission documents to reflect most accurate and up-to-date academic programs, tuition and fees, and other pertinent information.
  • Develop and maintain SIS policies and procedures for records.
  • Provides assistance to students, Instructors, and staff regarding policies and procedures for registration, program completion, academic records, and all other functions related to Office of the Registrar.
  • Processes a variety of documentation associated with department operations, within designated timeframes and per established procedures.
  • Processes registration; creates permanent files for new students; maintains student records.
  • Processes petitions for in-state tuition classification.
  • Process multiple PIDMS (Personal Identification Master).
  • Maintains computerized and/or hard-copy file systems of departmental records; prepares departmental files; sorts/organizes documents to be filed; files documents in designated order; retrieves/replaces files.
  • Promote SFCC’s diversity and educational goals. Support diversity and inclusion need assessment and initiatives.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associates in Business Administration, Accounting, Human Services, Education, or related field.
  • Three (3) years of experience in related field.
OR
  • Bachelors in Business Administration, Accounting, Human Services, Education, or related field.
  • One (1) year of experience in related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • One (1) of experience increasingly responsible computer applications experience including the use and troubleshooting of large, complex software applications or information systems analysis and in the collection, analysis, data research, reporting and presentation of data.
  • Experience in an admission/registrar office in a post-secondary institution.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English).
