Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.
- Experience working in a university setting.
- Experience using Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Experience in customer service troubleshooting needs.
- Experience in answering multi-line phone using professional phone etiquette.
- Ability to prepare concise and grammatically correct correspondence.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative, diverse, results-oriented environment.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to change
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic understanding of University Policies and Procedures.
- Experience working in a Registrar’s Office of a 4-year, state funded institution.
- Demonstrated punctual and excellent attendance.
- Basic understanding of TXST administrative software: Banner, BDMS, CLSS, EMS, Parchment, various NETs.
- Willing to occasionally work outside of normal business hours.
Job Description
This position is the primary point of contact for students, parents, faculty, staff, and visitors to the Office of the University Registrar. This position requires knowledge of institutional policies, procedures and practices of the Office of the University Registrar and Texas State University. Job duties performed, impact enrollment, registration, graduation, records integrity, and reporting.
Job Duties
- Provide excellent, professional customer service in-person, via phone, online, and through email.
- Interpret, apply, and explain all components of the student registration process.
- Maintain accurate and complete student records for current and former students in the student information system (Ellucian Banner).
- Apply academic policies and regulations of the office and university accurately and consistently.
- Monitor due dates/times of all daily tasks, assignments, and projects and initiate action.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with other offices on campus, such as the Office of Admissions, Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships, Student Business Services, and Academic Departments.
- Assist in the production of academic records such as enrollment/degree verifications, academic transcripts, and diplomas.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of internal procedure manuals.
- Assist supervisor with other duties as assigned.
