POSITION SUMMARY:

The Busser is responsible for setting and resetting the dining room tables, assists with clearing tables, maintains the cleanliness of the restaurant dining room. Assists the servers where needed.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: other duties may be assigned

  • Resets tables according to specifications of the restaurant
  • Remove plates and silverware when guests are finished (prebus)
  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
  • Work with a spirit of teamwork. Willingly accepts additional responsibilities and tasks. Communicate needs and ideas to management.
  • Performs sidework as needed throughout shift
  • Follows all safety and sanitation policies
  • Makes constant rounds of the restaurant ensuring all guest’s tables are attended to with regards to cleanliness, proper utensils, napkins, water supplies and condiments
  • Ensuring the cleanliness of the restaurant is maintained to standards.
  • Performs additional responsibilities, although not detailed, as requested by a manager at any time

WORK CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL DEMANDS / MACHINES AND EQUIPMENT USED


There is constant physical contact with food. Washing hands and arms is mandatory. General hygiene such as brushing teeth, daily shower, and deodorant is mandatory.   • Ability to stand, walk and or sit and continuously perform essential job functions for extended periods of time.

The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas where under certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as gloves. Primary environment: ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional restaurant equipment as found in a typical restaurnat environment.

  • Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Atelier & Ace Culture & initiatives
  • Maintain complete knowledge of all hotel services/features and hours of operation
  • Promote positive relations with guests and employees


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

This position requires relevant and successful experience, especially in Rooms Division and customer service arena. Expertise gained working in a service and quality centric environment is preferred and considered an asset.


LANGUAGE AND MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Ability to understand guests’ service needs and requests.
  • Ability to acknowledge the guests’ request with a polite answer.
  • Must be able to satisfactorily communicate English with guests, management, and other team members to their understanding.
  • Additional foreign language preferred.
  • Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations.


REASONING ABILITY

Demonstrate the ability to anticipate and solve practical problems or resolve issues.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving guest and operational issues maintaining a positive attitude.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • College and computer training preferred.
  • Riverside County Food Handler’s card
