Compensation: $16-20/ hour

We are seeking a skilled Orthodontic Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team.

As an Orthodontic Accounts Receivable Specialist, you will be responsible for following up on claims from billing through final resolution. This includes providing accurate and timely follow-up of unpaid claims, by assigned payer(s) and defined aging criteria to meet or exceed collection targets and minimize write-offs. You will also be responsible for submitting pre-authorizations and pre-determinations to determine coverage, if any, for our patients.

Location: While this is a mostly remote position, the ideal candidate for this role will be able to commute to our office in Smyrna, TN, reliably at least once a month for team meet-ups.

Schedule: 8am - 5pm Monday to Thursday and 8am - 1pm on Friday (some flexibility)

What You Will Do

• Review insurance EOBs and place a copy in the patient account
• Make accurate account adjustments
• Mail statements
• Follow up with past due accounts, including account audits
• Follows scripting for collection calls
• Submit refund requests
• Keep AR within the company set percentages
• Records batch totals with date and initials on payment receipt spreadsheet
• Balances batches and runs transaction reports
• Ensures accuracy of all patient data
• May be required to work overtime/outside of scheduled business hours

What You Will Need

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Orthodontic AR experience preferred
• Computer proficiency and the ability to learn new programs
• Knowledge and experience with insurance EOBs
