Position Summary:
The Account Payable Clerk role is responsible for all accounts payable/disbursement functions including audit and processing of supplier invoices for payment. Responsible for end to end processing of electronic file transfers along with manual checks and quality control aspects. You will ensure client’s needs and requirements are met and exceeded while also ensuring that all department objectives are fulfilled within given timelines. This position relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Assist management team with implementation of new projects
Overall Responsibilities:
- Audit supplier invoices for accuracy, completeness and conformance to company specifications prior to processing for payment.
- Ensure all appropriate discounts are taken.
- Process check runs, EDIs, wires, credit memos and BERs.
- Work with suppliers and other company employees to clear unvouchered receipts.
- Provide feedback to department managers to improve accounting accuracy and efficiency.
- Assist with data entry and account analysis as required by management.
- Assist with account reconciliations as required by management.
- Support system testing as necessary for SAP process improvement.
- Operate PC to enter data in SAP or spreadsheets as applicable.
- Manage inbound and outbound cash management activities.
- Manage and create process documentation and ensure compliance by other team members
- Interact with other departments, internal and external, to resolve conflicts.
- Take initiative and ownership to support internal and external projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Minimum Experience/Skills:
- At least 1 year of experience working in general accounts payable functions within an ERP system (SAP preferred)
- Minimum of 1 year of proven experience achieving goals and making decisions under minimal supervision
- At least 1 year of proven experience managing and reconciling large amount of data accurately and efficiently
- Minimum of 2 years of Microsoft Excel experience
