Job Description
The Mau Marine and The Okoboji Store accounting group is looking for a fun accountant to join our team. This position will support Mau Marine and The Okoboji Store with cash handling and general accounting duties. This role is a great role for someone who is excited about supporting two dynamic companies.
Responsibilities
Daily Reconciliation
- Cash handling and reconciling for operations
- Produce daily reports & record activity in general ledger
- Monitor discounts and comps for appropriate approvals
Accounts Payable and Receivable
- Confirm accounts payables are approved and paid in a timely manner in the appropriate periods
- Ensure proper invoice coding to record expenses in appropriate accounts
- Maintain proper funding for payables function
- Accept Credit Card Payments via the phone and post in respective area
General Accounting
- Sales Tax filing and remittance
- Record month end journal entries and assist in reconciliation as needed
- Expense tracking for intercompany and marketing
Operations and Reporting
- Credit card Dispute resolution support as needed
- Prepare Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Reports
- Point of sale system support
- Department and Bank Runs
Qualifications for Success:
- Spreadsheet Experience (Excel, Google Sheets, etc)
- QuickBooks or other accounting package experience preferred
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Desire to work in a fun, fast paced work environment
- Boat driving and burger flipping experience is not required but a plus
