Account Manager Job at MILLAT INDUSTRIES
The Account Manager is responsible for developing and executing our business development strategy, including building strong customer relationships, quoting new business, marketing our company, and negotiating commercial agreements with customers and suppliers. In addition, they act as the liaison between customers and internal cross-functional teams to ensure the business's commercial success and the customer's satisfaction.
Essential Job Functions
- Operate as the lead point of contact for all commercial matters related to our customers
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships
- Develop a trusted advisor relationship with key accounts, customer stakeholders, and executive sponsors
- Conduct quoting activities for new and existing projects, including the receipt of RFQ, gathering pertinent information, sending RFQ's to suppliers, collaborating with the internal team to design and cost the manufacturing process, and presenting approved quotes to the customer
- Negotiate contracts related to new and existing business, product terminations, etc.
- Perform the contract review process on new contracts and purchase orders
- Facilitate the development of our Business Development Strategy to include Sales and Marketing initiatives with both existing and new customers and markets
- Communicate the progress of Business Development initiatives to internal and external stakeholders
- Forecast and track key account metrics (monthly sales results and annual forecasts)
- Assist with high severity customer requests or issue escalations as needed
- Visit customers, suppliers, and equipment builders as needed (occasional local and regional travel, generally same-day travel with very few overnight trips required)
- Organize, lead, and host customer appreciation events
Desired Characteristics
- BA/BS degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or other relevant field and/or 2+ years of Account Management experience
- 2+ years of experience in machining or closely related manufacturing field
- Proficient in computer systems such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Demonstrates good organization skills
- Personable and enjoys the activities of both "Inside Sales" and "Outside Sales"
- Ability to work with minimum supervision
Job Classification Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to the floor frequently
- Ability to exert between 10 and 50 pounds on an occasional basis
- Ability to drive a vehicle on an occasional basis for customer visits
- Quality-oriented & conscious
- Always adheres to Company safety policies
- Reliable with an excellent attendance record
- Requires advanced training through in-house and/or external training methods
